More Backstage RAW News: Ambrose Possibly Injured and More

As we previously reported, there was a negative reaction from WWE talent that were backstage for Triple H’s harsh words towards Daniel Bryan at the end of Monday Night Raw. Along with that, PWInsider is also reporting more backstage happenings from the October 21 edition of the television program.

The website is reporting that the original plan for the main event match was to put WWE Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Goldust against The Shield in a handicap match. However, Vince McMahon ended up scrapping the idea and went with a match with The Usos going up against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in order to establish a triple threat match for the WWE Tag Team Championships at Hell in a Cell.

In addition to changes to the main event at the last minute, the opening match that had Daniel Bryan go up against Dean Ambrose was also a last minute move. The match reportedly left Ambrose tweaking his knee as he was seen limping backstage, according to PWInsider. However, nothing is confirmed as of now.

Finally, the website is reporting that NXT star Xavier Woods was backstage for the event. However, there were not any plans to have Woods make his debut on the Monday Night Raw broadcast. Woods has recently been featured on WWE.com and spoken of on WWE programming due to his petition to bring back Big Show, who was fired by “The Authority.”
