Almost three weeks ago on April 7, NXT Divas Champion Paige made her debut on the main WWE roster during “Monday Night Raw.” Her debut would be unforgettable, as Paige defeated then Divas Champion AJ Lee in a title match, becoming the Divas Champion in WWE in addition to NXT. Due to her win, she would later become set to be stripped of her NXT title.

Following her title win, Paige has picked up many wins on WWE programming, typically against lower caliber Divas. Additionally, during an edition of “WWE Main Event,” Tamina Snuka became the number-one contender to Paige’s Divas Championship. The two will collide at the “Extreme Rules” event in a Divas Championship match.

In a recent report by PWInsider, the website provides WWE’s reasoning behind its current booking of Paige. WWE feels that Paige needs to go up against low-caliber Divas at the moment in order for the audience to connect with her more. By wrestling such Divas in Aksana and Alicia Fox, WWE officials feel that she will be able to develop in front of fans, preparing her for more important matches on a bigger stage such as her match at “Extreme Rules.”

Editor’s Note

I agree with WWE’s recent booking of Paige. It’s best to have her frequently featured on WWE programming leading into “Extreme Rules,” which will hopefully have the audience identify with her tremendously.
