It’s been roughly a year since WWE decided to give the brand extension a second chance. It was a move that was questioned beforehand, and criticized afterwards, as many felt that top NXT stars like Samoa Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bayley, and Asuka should’ve been called up to the main roster when the brand split began last July. Now, three of the four aforementioned names are on the main roster, but it still feels like the rosters are unbalanced.

However, the unbalanced rosters haven’t had a negative impact on anything really, and because of that, WWE management feels like the brand extension has been a success, according to Cageside Seats.

“Everyone within WWE has been happy with the brand split and they may do even more to differentiate between Raw and SmackDown Live.”

Who went to Raw and SmackDown Live the first round of the WWE Draft?: SmackDown Live, July 19, 2016
