Even though he hasn’t said it publicly, most are assuming that The Undertaker is retired. But, with the exception of a select few, retirements often don’t last forever in professional wrestling, which is why the “one more match” question gets asked to so many wrestling legends after they retire. The fans will surely chant for one more match from The Undertaker whenever he gets inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, but will he actually return for one more match? And if so, will it be against Roman Reigns?
How Vince McMahon Chooses The Undertaker's Wrestlemania Opponent... | WrestleSketch #8
On Thursday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked about a possible in-ring return for The Undertaker, and while Meltzer didn’t completely rule it out, he pretty much said that it’s highly unlikely.
“It’s possible. The only reason to bring him back would be against Roman and I don’t see that [happening] at WrestleMania [34] at all. Maybe the next year at WrestleMania, but probably not. There’s a reason he retired. He needed a lot of surgeries, his body was really beaten up, it was time to go. He decided it was time to go before that but he came back. Put it this way, it’s wrestling, and people can come out of retirement at any time, but do the mentions make me think he’s coming out of retirement imminently? No.”
