It’s been many years since Rey Mysterio did anything with WWE, and while the company is interested in bringing back the former World Heavyweight Champion, it doesn’t look like a return will be happening anytime soon.

On Wednesday, Sports Illustrated published an interview with Mysterio, where they asked him about a potential WWE return. He responded by saying that he’ll never say never in regards to a WWE return, but, at the moment, he’s very happy with being a part of Lucha Underground.

“You never say never. but I am very, very comfortable in the position I’m in with Lucha Underground. I love their schedule, I love their style, I love what they have to offer. I don’t think there will ever be another company that has what Lucha Underground has. It’s very unique, exciting, and fresh—this is really something new.”

Both the Raw and SmackDown rosters are in desperate need of star power, and Mysterio is definitely a huge star that would add a lot to either roster. But, at the age of 42, the San Diego native isn’t interested in working a full time WWE schedule.
