Shawn Michaels on if Vince McMahon Has Ever Asked Him to Have One More Match

It looks like Shawn Michaels is never going to have another match, despite the fact that there are always rumors of an HBK comeback. But, at the age of 51, Michaels seems content with life after wrestling.

The latest rumor of a Michaels return got started after AJ Styles tweeted a photo which suggested that he was going to have a match with the Heartbreak Kid at the Royal Rumble, which is taking in place in the WWE Hall of Famer’s hometown of San Antonio, Texas. Michaels has since said that he’s not coming back to wrestle AJ, or anyone else for that matter.

We know that Michaels is content with life after wrestling, but is Vince McMahon happy that arguably the greatest wrestler of all time isn’t willing to have another match? According to Michaels, he must be, because, in a recent interview with ESPN, the Heartbreak Kid said that Vince has never asked him to come back to the ring since his retirement in 2010.

“It’s funny because the two guys who really make the decisions, which is Vince [McMahon] and Hunter [Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque], in seven years have never even approached me. I guess I’m semi-amused that people think ‘Vince is saying this’ and whatnot because those are the two people that understand why and respect why I retired and understood it.”
