This Sunday’s Royal Rumble will probably have its fair share of surprises, but will Kenny Omega be one of them? His contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling has expired, or at least he’s leading people to believe that it has expired, and he’s currently a free man, which means that he can be a part of this Sunday’s show in San Antonio if he chooses to be.
Omega is currently scheduled to appear in Chile the night before the Royal Rumble, so making it to the Alamodome in time for the event would be a tall task, but it is possible.
On Wednesday, the now former New Japan star did an interview with 4Front Wrestling, and he talked about a possible surprise appearance at the Royal Rumble.
“The most I can say right now is that if some of you are subscribers to the Network and you’re looking forward to something happening or not happening on the 29th…I’m not sure if I could pull a rabbit out of the hat by that date. That’s all I can say for now.
“But that doesn’t mean that it’s impossible. I’m not saying anything… that might be asking too much at this point and time. That’s literally the most news I’ve given anyone up to this point.”

Keep this in mind, if Omega is planning on debuting at the Royal Rumble, he’s not going to say so ahead of time. But, at least he’s not outright denying it.
