Earlier this week, we heard that Brock Lesnar may return to the UFC in December to fight ex-UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones. Of course, Jones might actually be the light heavyweight champion by the time this rumored super fight takes place, as he’s challenging the current champ Daniel Cormier at this Saturday’s UFC 214. The fight, if it does happen, will obviously take place at heavyweight.
During a recent Q&A on the UFC’s official Facebook page, Jones was asked about a fight with Lesnar, and he said the following:
“I would love to fight Brock Lesnar. He’s a massive dude and it would be a massive draw. Really big for the sport. It’d be a great challenge – that’s a big ‘ole boy. I doubt Brock Lesnar would take that fight though.”
It didn’t take Lesnar long to respond, as he told the Associated Press the following:
“Would I fight Jon Jones? Anytime, anywhere.”
As of this writing, Lesnar still hasn’t officially re-entered the USADA drug testing pool, which means that his suspension, which was frozen after he announced his retirement back in February, is still frozen, so if he wants to return by December, he’ll need to re-enter the pool soon.
