WWE has been slowly building towards a breakup of team Kevin and Chris for several months now, and the breakup will probably happen shortly after the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

The question is though, will this match be for the WWE Universal Championship? Owens is set to defend the title against Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble, and Chris Jericho will be locked in a shark cage during the match, so he won’t be able to aid his best friend.

It doesn’t seem like WWE would let Owens defeat Reigns clean, so the Jericho vs. Owens match probably won’t be for the Universal Championship.
