Since The Texas Rattlesnake doesn’t make appearances on WWE television often, it’s a special moment when Stone Cold Steve Austin returns to Monday Night Raw. This last appearance was during the opening segment on the 25th-anniversary show of Raw. His segment with Vince and Shane McMahon was really fun and a trip down memory lane.
The WWE Universe still loves Stone Cold and many wish he could return to the ring for just one more match. His wrestling career is over, but some people still hope that he’ll return for a more permanent role. With WWE closing a deal to bring SmackDown Live to FOX next year, it’s possible that WWE officials might offer Stone Cold such a position.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, it’s plausible that WWE officials could use a bit of the money from the FOX deal to offer bigger contracts to top stars. The odds of Austin having an extended run as an active wrestler are extremely low, but the powers that be could offer him a ton of money to fill another big role on WWE programming next year.
Stone Cold has some experience as an authority figure on Raw, but it’s been quite some time since he filled that role. However, he’s more than capable of handling himself on a microphone and can still drop the occasional “Stunner.” The WWE Universe would also love to see the WWE Hall of Famer interact with a new and much different locker room.
Austin’s appearance at Raw 25 proved a lot about his drawing power:
It’s far too early to speculate too much about what WWE officials can do with the extra cash in their pocket from the FOX deal. Bringing back Stone Cold Steve Austin remains a possibility, but all the stars would need to align perfectly for him to take a deal like that.
