Rumor: WWE Hall of Fame Inductees Could Be Voted Instead of Chosen

The biggest complaint that most fans have about the WWE Hall of Fame is the fact that some notable names haven’t been inducted. More recently, Owen Hart and Chyna are two of the top choices to receive the honor during WrestleMania weekend. However, a number of issues prevent the company from celebrating their lives as the fans want.

The WWE Universe also complains because WWE officials choose who they feel is right to sell the venue. However, all of that could change as soon as next year in New York. It has been reported by RingSideNews that the company is considering giving the fans the power to vote for the WWE Hall of Fame inductees every year, but there is a huge catch.

The report claims that WWE officials could raise the price of the WWE Network to $15 or more, but there are surveys detailing what the average fan would want if they must pay $15 per month. On paper, fan involvement is what can make WWE so much fun to watch. The problem is voting for the Hall of Fame would make it a popularity contest.

Initially, the fans would be able to vote to get Chyna, Owen Hart, and others the honor they deserve from the industry. Eventually, you could see the WWE Universe make the wrong choices for the WWE Hall of Fame and Vince McMahon would have to use a veto card or something. Unfortunately, that would just give the fans the illusion of control.

It’s clear that WWE officials are trying to figure out a way to utilize fan involvement to raise the prices for the WWE Network. However, the fans may be willing to pay a little bit more for the service if they had a choice. After all, Cyber Sunday was a real thing.
