Apollo Crews remains one of WWE’s great young talents with unlimited potential, but he’s not going to be able to achieve anything unless he’s doing something of value on WWE programming. Since “Summerslam,” Crews has been a ghost on SmackDown.

Like I’ve said before, you can’t push everyone at the same time. However, not using someone for an extended period of time when they didn’t have much momentum is a career killer, and that’s the problem Apollo Crews is dealing with right now.

After Wrestlemania 32, WWE took Apollo Crews out of NXT. At the time, most people thought that was a huge mistake because he wasn’t ready for the bright lights. That has proven to be true because there isn’t anything connecting him with the WWE Universe.

He’s got such great raw talent inside the ring, but there is no character to connect him with the WWE audience. Crews had the same issue in NXT, but that crowd appreciates wrestling much more than the mainstream crowd.

The point is that Apollo Crews isn’t going to get anywhere not being featured on Raw, NXT, or SmackDown. WWE isn’t doing him any favors right now. At the very least, he should be wrestling in a tag team. He’s only going to get better through experience.
