In the months leading into last year’s Survivor Series PPV, there was a lot of speculation about WWE pulling off a “Battle of the Horsewomen” match for the event. At the time, Ronda Rousey, Marina Shafir, and Jessamyn Duke weren’t signed to WWE deals. Shayna Baszler was the only one signed to a contract. As a result, the match did not take place.

Almost a year later, so much has changed. Now, all four MMA Horsewomen have signed contracts with the company. On paper, there’s nothing stopping WWE officials from the “Battle of the Horsewomen” match. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer, that’s exactly what the powers that be are planning to do at Survivor Series this year.

The Four Horsewomen of WWE have gone their separate ways for the most part, but a reunion for a match like this would interest a lot of people and be an excellent match to promote for the Survivor Series PPV. The only issue would be choosing who should win.

On paper, WWE officials should prefer to keep Ronda Rousey and the rest of the MMA Horsewomen looking strong. However, The Four Horsewomen of WWE are homegrown talents. They are more experienced in the squared circle and should go over. It’s also a huge statement for the powers that be to say former UFC fighters are better wrestlers.

“The Battle of the Horsewomen” could be considered UFC vs. WWE:

Survivor Series is still five months away. WWE officials don’t need to reach a decision just yet, but the WWE Universe should know the match is being considered again. The rivalry would be a huge draw for the event. If the feud makes sense, WWE will do it.
