It’s strange hearing him talk. WWE has a lot of series that they run on at least a somewhat regular basis. My favorite though is Formerly Known As, which looks at what wrestlers did to get to WWE. Sometimes it’s a former promotion they wrestled in or how they managed to get their big break. Most of the time we see their older characters though and how those characters evolved into what they are today. WWE is back with a new episode on a pretty interesting subject.

This is more interesting than you would expect.

Harper's journey from indie darling to Bludgeon Brother: WWE Formerly Known As

In the latest episode of Formerly Known As, Luke Harper talks about his time wrestling in Rochester, New York, which eventually saw him turn into Big Rig Brodie Lee, a truck driver character. Harper also tells a story of his life being up and down when he received the phone call from WWE, which has a few funny moments to it as well. As usual, there are several old clips, including Harper going back to where he started wrestling and talking with some of the people who helped get him here.

Check out some previous episodes on Seth Rollins, Matt Hardy and Bayley.

Opinion: I know Harper isn’t the biggest star in the world, but WWE has figured out the perfect formula to really make these things effective. I wanted to see more about where Harper came from and everything he’s done to get here, which is exactly the point. There’s something so cool about going that far back into the wrestler’s history and Harper’s is another unique case, especially for someone who very rarely gets mic time about himself.
