Cody Rhodes is consistently repped by many fans as one of the most underrated superstars on the WWE roster. Many feels that Cody Rhodes should have become a World Champion by now. The thirty-year-old is a former Intercontinental Champion, a six-time WWE Tag Team Champion, and is the brother of Goldust as well as the son of the legendary Dusty Rhodes.
Since 2014, Rhodes has been playing the character of Stardust in a persona that mirrors Goldust in mystique with elements of his father. The Stardust character has been interesting, but the success of the character is based on Rhodes’ previous work under his given name.
Many fans call for “Cody” to return as he acknowledged on Twitter. He also said that “The ONLY way Stardust will ever go away…is if YOU KNOW WHO wrestled me…AND WON. #thesequel”. This tweet could be referring to a few possible people.
The first is Steve Arnell, who had a “Twitter war” and tag team match at Summerslam, which Stardust lost. The other option is Goldust. The Rhodes Brothers were former Tag Team Champions together. Their team ended when Cody turned which led to a long desired match at Fast Lane, but the feud was dropped shortly afterward.
Until “You know who” is revealed, it looks like Stardust and the Cosmic Wasteland are here to stay.
