However, Sin Cara was injured during a match last month with Big E on Monday Night Raw. He was pulled from the apron onto the floor, and his fall caused him to suffer a dislocated shoulder that has put him out of action and given Kalisto the time to become a singles star and win the United States Championship.
We’ll never know where The Luca Dragons would be now if Sin Cara hadn’t been injured. However, it is now being reported that WWE is taking his injury very seriously and giving him proper time to heal. He is reportedly due back to the ring by sometime next month.
It’s going to be very interesting how WWE decides to bring Sin Cara back to WWE television. Kalisto’s first run as the US Champion only lasted a day, three if you count the taping delay, but he could still win the title back at the “Royal Rumble” this Sunday. That would leave Sin Cara left without a paddle.
There is a possibility of reuniting the team and catapulting them back into the tag team title hunt. Kalisto has done an outstanding job of maintaining his momentum, or there could even be a heel turn for Sin Cara coming down the line. Unfortunately, we aren’t going to know for a month or so.
