Shelton Benjamin hasn’t been on WWE programming since the spring of 2010. But since he left the company, the WWE Universe has recognized him as one of the most underutilized and underrated WWE superstars ever.
During his tenure with WWE, Benjamin was a United States Champion, a two-time WWE Tag Team Champion as one-half of the “World’s Greatest Tag Team,” and a three-time Intercontinental Champion.
Last night during SmackDown, a vignette aired showing that Shelton Benjamin will be returning to WWE very soon for the SmackDown brand.
He most likely won’t appear on WWE programming until after “Summerslam,” it is possible that he will be featured during the event. Either way, he’s going to be a game-changer during his second chance with WWE.
A ton of people will argue that he had the potential to be a main event player for the company during his first run, which was screwed up by WWE officials style of booking at the time.
In 2016, Shelton Benjamin has a great chance to return to WWE and become a top hand for SmackDown. It’s not out of the realm of possibility for him to become the WWE Champion if the WWE Universe gets behind him.
Do you think Shelton Benjamin will be more successful during his second run with the company?
