At this point, the WWE Universe has been waiting for Sasha Banks’ heel turn for almost two full years. The expectation was that The Boss would betray Bayley and that would result in a big money match between them at Summerslam or WrestleMania. However, WWE officials have yet to pull the trigger on the rivalry and have canceled those plans.

For most of the year, it seemed WWE officials were finally building Bayley vs. Sasha to a boiling point. However, there were a few silly “therapy” sessions and soon their tension was just forgotten on WWE television. Months have passed by and it’s clear WWE aren’t booking the feud anymore. According to PWInsider Elite, the reason why is finally clear.
Mike Johnson claims that WWE officials felt it wasn’t the right time to make the move. A lot of people don’t agree with them, but the expectation is still that Bayley vs. Sasha will happen sooner or later. WrestleMania 35 could be the time, but the WWE Universe has been waiting for so long that their expectations could be at an all-time low for the feud.
It’s hard to admit, but the interest for Bayley vs. Sasha Banks may not be as strong as it once was. Three years ago in Brooklyn, it was something new and important. Now, it’s familiar and the momentum could be gone. On paper, WWE booking a turn for Sasha Banks is too predictable and a heel turn for Bayley could be more interesting to watch.
More people would be surprised to see her turn instead of Sasha and Bayley’s character never transitioned to the main roster as most people expected. If WWE officials plan to pull the trigger on their feud, that could be the best storyline after waiting for so long.
