Sami Zayn is probably the most popular superstar in NXT history. An argument can be made for others, but there is little question to Zayn’s importance to the brand.
He finished up his run with NXT at Takeover: Dallas after putting over Shinsuke Nakamura. Since then, he’s been feuding with Kevin Owens and has been involved in the Intercontinental Championship title hunt.
However, he hasn’t been booked very strongly as a face. It’s very early into his main roster career, so he’s got plenty of time. There may be a reason he’s not getting booked strongly despite being over with the WWE fans.
According to a report from Ringsidenews.com, Kevin Owens has grown on Vince McMahon quite a bit and he could end up being Mr. Money in the Bank in a few weeks.
The reason that is relevant is because Vince McMahon doesn’t see the appeal of Sami Zayn at all and doesn’t understand why he’s over with the WWE Universe.
Getting over in WWE isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon. It’s only a matter of time until Sami Zayn becomes a major player in WWE, but he’s going to have to work a little bit harder to make Vince McMahon change his mind.
Do you think Sami Zayn has the potential to be a huge star in WWE?
