The Usos have been a very successful tag team. They’ve been able to embrace their culture and get over as a tag team based mainly on one catchphrase and very good in-ring work.
The problem is that it doesn’t matter how great a gimmick or a run is in wrestling. Eventually, it gets stale, and The Usos are at a point in their collective career where it’s time to make some kind of a change.
Typically, a face tag team will turn heel to change things up, or WWE will make the decision to break the team up and let both partners go on singles runs.
No offense intended, but The Usos seem to function much better as a unit, so splitting them up and exposing the weaknesses of both men away from one another may not be the best idea.
According to a rumor from CageSideSeats.com, SmackDown’s Tag Team Tournament is expected to lead to American Alpha vs. The Usos, which will result in the latter team turning heel along the way to “Backlash.”
It’s unclear if Alpha or The Usos would win the SmackDown Tag Team titles, but the change of pace for The Usos is going to be interesting based on their look and in-ring style needing to change to fit the new attitude.
Do you think it is a good idea to turn The Usos heel?
