Since his debut at NXT Takeover: Dallas, The King of Strong Style has dominated WWE programming in NXT and SmackDown Live. He’s had great feuds with Bobby Roode, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and others during his WWE tenure. Unfortunately, there is a report going around that Shinsuke Nakamura could be leaving WWE when his contract ends.
According to a report from RingSideNews, Dave Meltzer confirmed that Nakamura may be headed back to New Japan Pro Wrestling after his contract expires early next year. A lot of people believe that Shinsuke will remain with WWE. The reason why he made the jump in the first place was that New Japan’s style was too harsh on his body at his age.

Certainly, there are new challenges for Nakamura in NWJPW. Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada, and Cody Rhodes all offer him new opportunities. He’s worked with the first two before, but the narrative has changed dramatically over the last three years. The WWE Universe would also be shocked if he left WWE when he has so much left to accomplish.
His new feud with Jeff Hardy is expected to be a great time. It’s likely Nakamura will be winning the United States Championship soon, but that’s not what most fans want to see from him on the main roster. He didn’t capture the WWE Title during the feud with AJ Styles, but he’s transitioned into a heel very nicely and it’s only a matter of time for him.
Shinsuke Nakamura’s contract isn’t expected to expire until 2019 and WWE officials are expected to offer him a massive deal to stay. His current heel run has just gotten started and a lot can happen between now and the end of Nakamura’s WWE contract.
