It’s not easy to see where things went wrong for Roman Reigns. As far as making money, merchandise, and all the quiet things that make a superstar, he’s apparently very good at those things.
That’s why WWE continues to push him despite the WWE Universe refusing to give him even the smallest amount of affection as a face.
Instead, WWE is applying the logic that he’s getting organic reactions and is love him or hate him, everyone is chanting or screaming something. They’ve been using the word “polarizing” to describe him.
That logic is a little like saying that Chris Davis is the best baseball player in the world because he hit the most home runs last year. Home runs are fun, explosive, and great for the game, but there are too many factors to consider and you can’t call him the best in the world because of one stat.
Regardless of the logic, Roman Reigns is the most over performer in the company, and it seems WWE is going to keep running with him through the entire brand split situation as the WWE Champion.
According to a report from DailyWrestlingNews.com, Roman Reigns will remain the WWE Champion until at least “Summerslam.”
As of this writing, that’s just the rumor. Plans can always change, and this is one of the most unpredictable time periods in WWE history.
