The expectation is their rivalry will conclude at Extreme Rules and then “The Big Dog” will move into something bigger for Summerslam. There’s a lot of speculation about him receiving another WWE Universal Title opportunity against Brock Lesnar.
Recently, it was rumored that The Beast would be defending the championship against Seth Rollins. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer, that won’t be the case at all. WWE officials are planning for Roman Reigns to get another WWE Universal Title opportunity against Brock Lesnar, which is going to be very bad news for a lot of fans.

The expectation has been that Bobby Lashley was brought back to be the one to defeat Brock Lesnar at the biggest party of the summer for the Universal Championship. The WWE Universe wasn’t thrilled with that idea, but it was better for most people than yet another Lesnar vs. Reigns match. However, WWE seem to have made their decision.
It’s been said that WWE officials canceled Roman’s title win at WrestleMania because of the negative reaction against him. They also didn’t pull the trigger at the Greatest Royal Rumble. Most fans will watch Summerslam with the expectation that WWE officials are finally going to allow Reigns to beat Lesnar, but most fans are expecting the unexpected at this point.

There’s still two months between Money in the Bank and Summerslam. WWE officials could change their minds. They’ve done it before, but it’s very likely that Roman Reigns will be booed out of the Barclays Center and that’s not the reaction the company wants to see when crowning a new top guy. We’ll see what happens in Brooklyn this August.
