No one knows what the current United States Champion Kalisto is doing at this year’s Wrestlemania.
A year ago, Rusev brought back a lot of prestige to the US title, and his feud with John Cena was very good. At Wrestlemania 31, Cena gave Rusev his first loss, took the US title, and for the rest of 2015, that championship was one of the most decorated and competitive.
Here we are almost a year later, and Kalisto has no direction now that the feud with Alberto Del Rio is over? That is unacceptable when the rumor going around is there will be a six man ladder match for Kevin Owens’ Intercontinental Championship.
WWE will most likely throw Del Rio and Kalisto in for one more match even though the feud has definitely reached a finishing point.
They’d be missing a golden opportunity to push a potentially great feud with the last few weeks of The Road to Wrestlemania: Kalisto vs. Neville.
Both men aren’t really doing anything and the grandest stage of them all is right around the corner. It won’t be the best match on the card, but it may end up the most surprising.
They’ve got a really good matchup in the ring and the potential to fly under the radar and be radically different than anything that’s happening on the Wrestlemania card.
Their dueling combination of speed, athleticism, and desire to steal the show could give them the opportunity to turn some heads on the major stage with both men entering their first Wrestlemania.
Kalisto vs. Neville for the US title has the potential to surprise people and become a bigger feud after Wrestlemania and bring both men to the next level of their careers.
