During the WWE Draft, Heath Slater was the only WWE superstar on the active roster who wasn’t drafted to Raw or SmackDown.
That would be a huge insult in the hands of anyone else. In Heath Slater’s hands, it could be the gimmick and storyline he needs to finally be taken seriously as a WWE superstar.
Last night on SmackDown, Slater was used as a jobber again to put over the returning Rhyno. Nothing wrong with the spot, Rhyno back on the SmackDown brand is a cool thing. However, something occurred to me.
I haven’t always been a fan of Heath Slater, but “The One Man Band” gimmick broke me down to admit that he’s an entertaining guy, who can be used as an enhancement talent to get a lot of other people over.
What occurred to me last night was maybe it is time WWE took a serious look at Heath Slater because he made a few really good points during his promo with Shane McMahon.

What really got me was Slater running down his accomplishments and I realized that he is one-hundred percent right. If he were given the opportunity, he would do SO much more.
SmackDown is supposed to be the brand without glass ceilings, but last night was more of the same for Slater. Isn’t it time WWE gave him a real shot just once rather than have him continue to be the butt of every joke.
Do you think Heath Slater deserves a real push on SmackDown?
