Shortly before Wrestlemania, Neville suffered a broken ankle during a freak accident in a match with Chris Jericho that cost him his spot at the biggest event in wrestling history and the past three months of his career.
Last month, it was reported that Neville was expected to return to the ring before the end of June. Well, it’s July 1st and The Man That Gravity Forgot hasn’t returned to the ring yet.
However, we do have an update for Neville’s return. According to an update from WrestlingInc.com, Neville won’t be returning to the ring until August.
He is scheduled for WWE’s overseas tour in Australia and New Zealand in August. During the tour, he’ll be wrestling Chris Jericho, which is also interesting considering Y2J will be sticking around through August.
It looks like Neville will be picking up right where he left off, but all we really know is he’ll be working the WWE overseas tour. He could be returning to WWE programming sooner, but we at least have a date to watch.
There was a rumor that Neville would be entering the Intercontinental Championship title hunt when he returned from the injury, which is currently in the hands of The Miz.
Do you think Neville is the next Intercontinental Champion?
