Recently, the rumor mill has been going wild with rumors about former veterans of WWE returning to the product for the WWE Draft and brand split.
Several names have been thrown out, but two of the biggest were Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio. Both men would do very well on WWE programming and provide two great faces for either Raw or SmackDown.
Unfortunately, there can be a lot of red tape and contract issues that will block even a great idea from actually happening, and that’s what we have here between WWE, Jeff Hardy, and Mysterio.
According to a report from RingSideNews.com, WWE has contract many veterans of the industry to return or get involved with the brand split, but they never picked up the phone for Hardy or Mysterio.
It wasn’t due to a lack of interest. WWE already knew that both men were still under contract with other promotions, so making contact would be a waste of time.
The stars haven’t aligned for them yet, but that doesn’t mean they won’t in the future. Jeff Hardy has expressed interest in returning to WWE, and Mysterio hasn’t ruled it out either.
