Daniel Bryan has completely distanced himself from WWE and pro wrestling. It’s unfortunate, but it’s also understandable. Even Brie Bella retired at Wrestlemania 32 this year, so they’re both all out.
However, there was a recent report that Bryan was attempting to get out of his WWE deal to try to get back into the ring in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Now, we have an update on that rumor.
According to DailyWrestlingNews.com, there has been an intermediary for Daniel Bryan, who had contacted New Japan Pro Wrestling about him wrestling for the promotion if he could get out of his WWE contract.
Obviously, NJPW officials were very interested, especially after losing AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows earlier this year.
However, it is now being reported that the intermediary for Bryan recently told officials in Japan that they believe Bryan will not be wrestling anytime soon.
For Brie Bella, WWE officials wanted to stay away from using the word “retirement” as much as possible. The company didn’t want the negative media press to pick up on it any more than necessary, but WWE also wanted to keep it hushed for both “Total Divas” and for “Total Bellas.”
