After Extreme Rules, both Rusev and Andrade “Cien” Almas were left without feuds on SmackDown Live. WWE officials felt that might be a blessing in disguise to accomplish some of their goals for both men and their respective valets. On SmackDown this week, Lana and Zelina Vega worked a match and could be a sign of things to come for all four.
According to a new report from Rajah.com, WWE officials feel that Zelina Vega has been highly underutilized as a performer since her debut in NXT. The logic is Vega presents a natural opponent and heel for Lana and can bring much more attention to the situation between Zelina, Lana, Almas, and Rusev, especially as WWE moves into Summerslam.

A different report has come to light from Rajah that WWE officials are planning a mixed tag team match between Lana and Rusev against Almas and Zega. Aiden English will be a part of the match in some way since the tension between him and Rusev continues to build toa rivalry of their own, but a mixed tag team match is the plan for Summerslam.
It’s also being said their feud could last for quite some time because WWE officials don’t have anything big planned for Almas or Rusev after the biggest party of the summer. It’s been rumored that “Cien” is being primed for a US Title run eventually, but it seems any plans for that push have been put on hold following Randy Orton’s return to television.
A mixed tag team match is some different for the Summerslam card. On paper, it seems to be a situation where Almas and Vega walk out of Brooklyn with the win, which is the biggest win for either of them on the main roster thus far.
Do you believe Zelina Vega has a lot more to offer than just being a valet?
