It has been four and a half years since CM Punk left WWE. The WWE Universe knew he left the company disgruntled, but it wasn’t until he and Colt Cabana told his side of the story on Colt’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast at Thanksgiving 2014. Punk’s words created a lot of controversy and forced one of WWE doctors to file a lawsuit that has gone to trial.
Dr. Chris Amann’s trial against Colt Cabana and CM Punk began on Tuesday morning. It has been an intense few days for all involved, especially for Punk who is sitting in court instead of training for his next fight at UFC 225. His words have been overanalyzed for the past four days, but WrestleZone has done a fantastic job covering the trial this week.

The notes are detailed and tell the entire story. To summarize, Amann, Cabana, and CM Punk have all taken the stand. Dr. Amann’s testimony focused on the impact the podcast had on his life. Cabana was asked to testify about what he knew before and after he and Punk recorded the podcast. Punk was questioned about his statement being true or not.
The “Best in the World” has never had a problem telling the truth:
April Mendez-Brooks, formerly known as AJ Lee to the WWE Universe, will also take the stand during the trial. Wrestlezone is reporting that closing arguments will be made on Tuesday. Win or lose, it seems the entire situation will be over sometime next week.
