Over the past four years, NXT has grown into one of the most popular brands in the industry. Numerous performers have transitioned from other promotions or sports and learned how to become successful WWE Superstars. A lot of people deserve some credit for the brand’s success, but one thing has remained the same despite all the change NXT undergoes every year.

William Regal has been the General Manager for NXT as well as a great trainer at the WWE Performance Center. In many ways, Regal has become one of the most important faces for the brand. Unfortunately, the former King of the Ring hasn’t appeared on NXT television for months. He’s missed by his peers and fans, but there’s a good reason for his absence.

According to WrestlingNews.co, Regal is dealing with some serious health problems at the moment. Unfortunately, we don’t know anything more about those issues. It’s fair to assume it’s serious since he’s missed months of work. As of this writing, there’s no news on when he might return. For now, all the WWE Universe can do is wish him the best.

Whenever he does return to WWE television, it’s likely he will resume his role as NXT GM. Kurt Angle and Paige are the current General Managers for Raw and SmackDown Live, but they won’t hold those positions forever. WWE officials could always run some kind of angle claiming that Regal was “promoted” for doing such a great job with NXT.

William Regal just may be one of the most underrated wrestlers in WWE history:

For the time being, William Regal’s WWE future is up in the air. Hopefully, he’ll be back to work soon because his presence is missed on NXT television. If any new information comes out about his health or he’s set to return to WWE, you will be able to find it here.
