At “Summerslam,” Finn Balor became the first WWE Universal Champion after defeating Seth Rollins, but it didn’t come without a price. Unfortunately, it’ll cost Finn at least six months of his wrestling career.
Less than twenty-four hours after winning the title, Balor had to relinquish it on Raw and get surgery on his shoulder. Unfortunately, the surgery was more complex than anticipated and may cause him to lose more time.

According to a recent report, the original timetable for his return to WWE was between four to six months. You heard it above from Balor himself that four months is out the window and six months is more realistic.
A six month return for Finn Balor would bring him back to WWE programming in February, which means he would at least make Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando.
However, if there are any complications or things don’t heal like they’re meant to, Balor could be out for seven or more months, which would force him to miss Wrestlemania 33.
There are many people who believe that Finn was pushed on Raw too fast and too soon, so the injury will at least delay his reign on top of WWE, but it’s only a matter of time before he returns to reclaim his throne.
