Alas, Brock Lesnar decided to stay and signed a three-year deal. When WWE offered him that new contract in March, it included more money and more dates. Lesnar has worked more this year than he has since he returned in 2012 and the new contract is why.
According to The Wrestling Observer, Brock Lesnar and WWE have renegotiated that contract over the year to include even more dates and obviously, more money in Lesnar’s pocket.
There is no particular reason why the renegotiations between Lesnar and WWE happened, but a primary reason could be the loss of top tier talent over the last few months. Lesnar is even working specific live events like the show in December at The Forum.
Over the next month or more, Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Randy Orton, and Seth Rollins are all off WWE television for one reason or another. Brock Lesnar’s star power and willingness to work more dates is probably one of WWE’s best options for filling the void of lost superstars.
