The WWE title hunt has changed a great deal over the past week. At “Backlash” this past weekend, AJ Styles defeated Dean Ambrose to become the WWE Champion.
With John Cena’s return imminent and Ambrose having a rematch due, the WWE Universe was wondering exactly how SmackDown would handle the WWE title picture going into “No Mercy.”
Thanks to last night’s edition of SmackDown, we now know that AJ Styles will defend the WWE title at “No Mercy” against both John Cena and Dean Ambrose in a triple threat match.
On one hand, it seems like a lot to throw all three men into the match together, but the possibility of all three men being capable of walking out as champion makes the match very interesting.
Cena is due to take another hiatus shortly, so he’s the most unlikely to win the title. However, it isn’t out of the question. Meanwhile, Ambrose winning the title definitely a possibility.
AJ Styles walking out as WWE Champion seems most likely at this point, but he may even lose the title without being pinned, which would be great for his character down the line. There are too many possible outcomes to the match, which is exactly why it is perfect for “No Mercy” in a few weeks.
Who do you think will walk out of “No Mercy” the WWE Champion?
