Becky Lynch, Charlotte, and Sasha Banks had a very good triple threat match at Wrestlemania 32 in front of over one hundred thousand people in the AT&T Stadium.
It was a big match and a big moment for WWE’s women to get that spot on the card, and have a very good match that people were genuinely invested in watching. That’s a long way to come from how it was even a year ago.
The question of what’s next for WWE’s women seems to be a frequent topic of conversation these days. The division has raised the bar, but the question of what comes next needs to be answered.
In the past, Trish Stratus has commented that WWE’s women are ready to main event PPVs. Recently, Becky Lynch did an interview with Norfolk Navy Flagship and made a bold statement about what they want in WWE.
You can read the full interview right here. Below are some of the highlights:
Should women compete in specialty matches like TLC?
“Oh, absolutely. I don’t see any reason why there wouldn’t be. At the moment, I don’t think they’re necessary because I think we’re holding our own without any extras.”
What is the next big goal for women’s wrestling?
“We want to main event WrestleMania. We want to main event every pay-per-view, if it’s possible. The next step will be having (former NXT Women’s Champion) Bayley up here to have that foursome.”
