Rumor: WWE Rebuffing Batista's Calls For Another WWE Return

Dave Bautista is still one of the most recognizable names in Hollywood, but his ties to wrestling are still ever present. Every year, there’s a rumor around WrestleMania that he’s been pitched for a match on the grandest stage of them all. Unfortunately, Batista has yet to return to WWE programming in any way since he left the company in 2014.

At this point, he’s been gone for four more years and The Animal did not leave on the best of terms with the WWE Universe. People weren’t necessarily upset with him, but he represented everything the fans were against at the time. Despite all the problems, it seems WWE officials still call him every so often to see if he’d be interested in a return.

For instance, the former WWE Champion was rumored to be Ronda Rousey’s partner at WrestleMania 34 before Kurt Angle was chosen for the role. Apparently, WWE officials just cut off contact because he revealed during an interview with Chad Dukes of 106.7 The Fan that he still hasn’t heard anything back from WWE officials or even Triple H.

Batista claims he’s been texting them to see if something can be worked out, or if there is an interesting scenario, but he’s being “ghosted.” He’s been very clear over the years that he would love to make a return despite everything he’s doing in Hollywood. There’s still a lot of money in bringing him back and it seems weird that WWE isn’t interested.

WWE officials are breaking their backs trying to get The Rock to even appear on WWE television, but Batista is calling them and he can’t even get a text back? Obviously, The Rock is a much bigger star than him. That’s not the point. The point is that Batista still has the passion to wrestle and the WWE Universe may have changed their minds over the last four years. Hopefully, something changes and the two sides start talking again.
