After Bobby Lashley returned to WWE programming after WrestleMania 34, the WWE Universe believe he was chosen to be the one to defeat Brock Lesnar and win the WWE Universal Title at Summerslam. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the plan for him during the biggest party of the summer. In fact, there isn’t a plan for Lashley right now.
After a lackluster feud with Sami Zayn and a few months of aimless booking, it’s likely WWE officials are trying to figure out his place in the company before Summerslam, especially if he’s not being primed for a huge title match with Lesnar. However, if that isn’t the plan for Lashley, then what are WWE officials planning for him going forward?

According to a report from RingSideNews, Brad Shepard addressed Lashley’s booking in the future but didn’t have anything specific. In fact, Shepard does not understand what the purpose of bringing him back to the company was if he’s not feuding with Brock. It’s been heavily rumored that Lesnar is finishing his WWE run, so time is of the essence.
Other than Brock Lesnar, the only other big match to build Bobby Lashley to would be a feud with Roman Reigns. Recently, the two crossed paths on Raw and there’s a good bit of tension there that could be built into something. However, it seems like their rivalry could be a lot bigger if it were about how Lashley could beat Brock, but Roman couldn’t.
After the rivalry with Sami Zayn, it’s unclear what WWE officials have planned for him, which is an issue since there are only a few weeks left until Extreme Rules. It’s possible the powers that be do have specific plans for Lashley. That might be the reason why the IC Title changed hands, but his booking needs to start making him feel more important.
