At “No Mercy,” AJ Styles will defend the WWE Championship against Dean Ambrose and John Cena in a triple threat match. Needless to say, expectations are high for the match.
Not only is seeing all three men in the same match going to be something special, but the match will be especially important for Cena because it is most likely to be his last for awhile.
According to a report from WrestlingInc.com, John Cena will still be taking a hiatus from WWE in October to film the second season of “American Grit,” which is going to see him miss two months of television.
Cena’s last scheduled appearance is the edition of SmackDown after “No Mercy” on October 11th, so he’s most likely going to be written off over the course of those two shows.
However, the fifteen time WWE World Champion is still being advertised for “Survivor Series” in November, but the card is always subject to change. There is also the possibility Cena works that PPV despite his hiatus.
John Cena is expected to return to WWE programming in December. It’ll be the same schedule as last year; the only hope is that he doesn’t suffer another serious injury that costs him more time.
Do you think John Cena’s limited schedule in WWE is a good thing for the product?
