It’s once again time to find out if friends can remain so, when championship gold is on the line.

Tonight on “Monday Night Raw,” General Manager Mick Foley announced that Bayley would be added to the previously announced Women’s Championship match between Sasha Banks and Charlotte, and the match would now be a triple threat match.

WWE.com has posted a new preview for the match:

For Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte, the situation at WWE Clash of Champions has gone from bad to worse.

Thanks to the meddling of the champion and her protégé Dana Brooke,Charlotte now must defend the title against not one, but two revolutionaries when she faces Sasha Banks and Bayley in a Triple Threat Match this Sunday.

The Boss had the top-contender status locked up after beating Bayley on the Sept. 12 edition of Raw. That is, until General Manager Mick Foley — at the behest of Charlotte and Dana — reviewed footage of the match’s closing moments and determined both Superstars’ shoulders were down for the count. As a result, and in apparent contrast to the champion’s expectations for a night off this Sunday, Foley opted to turn Charlotte’s title defense into a Triple Threat Match, a predicament that greatly reduces her odds of retaining.

Charlotte, Sasha and Bayley have been linked together since their days at NXT, when they, along with SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, comprised the “Four Horsewomen,” a quartet often credited with transforming women’s wrestling.

Much has changed, however, since their time spent competing inside the yellow ropes of NXT. Sasha is out to regain the Raw Women’s Title she lost at SummerSlam, as well as gain retribution against the woman who injured her and jeopardized The Boss’ career. Bayley, having already defeated Charlotte in non-title competition, is eager to get her first taste of championship gold in WWE. The Raw Women’s Champion, meanwhile, has a tall task ahead of her if she plans on extending her second title reign past this week.

Editor’s Note:

Some people may complain about Bayley being added to this match, but I have no problems with it. It opens up plenty of booking avenues going deeper into the fall season, and allows this match to go multiple directions for the finish. Either way, it’ll be an absolutely outstanding contest, and I can’t wait for it!
