7) Chris Jericho

Chris-Jericho-Returns-2

The best part of John Cena’s US title reign has been his ability to work with anyone and have a good match. That’s what has made the US Open Challenge so compelling every week. Cena will be gone for two months and whoever takes the title from him should be able to fill that role.

That’s been Y2J’s role on WWE television for many years now. Jericho has also never won the United States title. He’s always wrestling house shows, or makes a surprise appearance at “Summerslam”. This would give Chris Jericho a new story to tell and continue the momentum of Cena’s great run.
