1. Tough Enough Sends the Wrong Message to Aspiring WWE Fans
The biggest problem with the last season of Tough Enough is there were people in the competition that weren’t wrestling fans. They legitimately thought they didn’t need to learn about the WWE to be successful in it. Not everyone had to curl up on the couch and watch Raw every week or write letters to themselves when they were ten to be WWE superstars, but that passion has to be there to survive in this industry.
It’s about just about will. It’s about passion and determination to follow that to the end. Planting the idea that you can lose Tough Enough and still get a contract to superstardom is the wrong message to send to fans about what sports entertainment is all about. There are reasons why Tough Enough winners rarely succeed. Winning the competition gets you a contract, but that’s the first step. It doesn’t prove you’re tough enough to be a star.
