3. No Matter What, the Tough Enough Aura Won’t Wash Off

"Tough Enough" Grand Finale to Air Next Week

Tough Enough wasn’t met with the best reviews from the USA Network and the fans. Those that did watch it, and vote had their favorites and Josh improved the most by the end, so he was able to beat ZZ’s personality. The aura of winning Tough Enough isn’t something to brag about in WWE, but the history is also against them.

The growth of NXT has put a massive spotlight on WWE developmental. That’s a blessing a curse. It’s great so seasoned veterans of the industry do well in that spotlight because they know what they’re doing, but fresh talent to the industry plays catch-up and doesn’t look as good by comparison.

In NXT, you’re a TNA guy or an ROH girl. Being a Tough Enough guy or girl isn’t going to get you over with smart fans. They’ve got to be good talents to get over. Tough Enough doesn’t have that reputation right now. It never has.
