6. Discredits the Fans’ Opinion of Their Favorites
WWE does listen to the fans. Most of the talent that performed well in the competition has been signed to a developmental contract. WWE seems to look at those contracts as an opportunity to work hard and learn. Also, everyone that the fans got behind and voted for consistently signed contracts too.
WWE put a lot of money into last season’s Tough Enough, but they have also done quite a lot to make the competitors not look as valuable. Tough Enough is not a wrestling competition. It can be entertaining, and WWE thrives on putting great athletes into their ring. However, performing and telling great stories are going to be learned in the ring, not doing obstacle courses and deliberately trying to create tension for a reality show.
There was meant to be one male and female winner. Now, five more people have been given the same opportunity to succeed despite losing the competition. As a fan, that makes the entire show a wash because in the end it didn’t matter who the fans voted for, WWE was planning on picking and choosing from the beginning.
