Money in the Bank 2014 poster

Money in the Bank has become the golden ticket of WWE. It’s something every one should want because of it’s insane success rate. There have been 15 Money in the Bank ladder matches and 15 MITB winners have cashed in. Out of those 15, 13 have successful cashed in for a World Championship. That’s a 87% success rate after winning MITB.

Sheamus is still to be determined, but even if he fails, that’s a 81% success rate. On paper, MITB is more than a golden ticket, it’s essentially a guarantee. This makes the Money in the Bank contract as valuable as a championship since it’s essentially a championship in a box. MITB may be even more valuable since it can be used as a shortcut to a championship.

Honestly, Money in the Bank has become a staple of WWE programming. MITB has become something of such great value to a superstar that it should be defended on a regular basis. Why should one guy have so much power and not be a marked man? The champion has a target on his back, and so should the contract holder.

Here are 5 reasons why a wrestler that holds the Money in the Bank briefcase should have to defend it:
