1) Punk Could Have Ended His Career on a Positive Note

CM Punk MITB

The ending of CM Punk’s career doesn’t fit along with the performer and wrestler he was at his best. What keeps so many fans lingering is the CM Punk character never had a final story to end his place in WWE.

Becoming the Intercontinental Champion, and then becoming the longest reigning champion in the belt’s history would have been the perfect story to end his career. Punk would have been healthier, challenged creatively to tell great stories while putting over young talent and the history of WWE legends.

An Intercontinental Championship reign could have saved CM Punk’s Wrestling Career. It was the booking decision of a lifetime made for the performer of a lifetime. Now, it’s just a fantasy of what could have been.
