“As far as the monster that is the WWE, I’ve never been approached or met anyone that’s worked with them, but I won’t rule out the opportunity if at any point Lucha Underground stopped existing and they become interested in me. I’m here to work and face anyone I can.”
WWE has been actively pursuing and signing free agents from all over the wrestling world. The recent signings of AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Austin Aries to name a few have brought a ton of talent from around the globe to compete on the grand stages of WWE. However, it looks like WWE may not be done pursuing talent.
According to many sources, including the Wrestling Observer, WWE officials recently had a meeting with Lucha Underground officials to discuss the possibility of sharing talent, or exchanging talent.
The meeting was back in December before anything serious occurred with any of the NJPW stars, or TNA stars. Officially, nothing came of the meeting, but there is, at least, some communication between the two brands.
On a related note, TNA also recently reached out to Lucha Underground for the same purpose. However, the main result of that meeting was the two promotions doing a crossover show in Dallas during Wrestlemania weekend. Lucha Underground turned the offer down because it seems like a bad mix to their officials.
