The boss isn’t happy. Over the last few years, AEW has gone from non-existent to the second biggest wrestling promotion in the world. There have been several reasons behind the rise, with owner Tony Khan being at or near the top of the list. Back in August 2023 at All In, Jack Perry referenced a backstage issue with CM Punk during his match on the show’s Zero Hour. This led to a brawl with Punk, which resulted in Punk being fired from the company and Perry being suspended. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Khan is “really mad at (Perry) because he cost him CM Punk”. Perry is still absent from AEW but has been appearing in New Japan Pro Wrestling. There is no word on when Perry could return to AEW TV.

Opinion: Perry being suspended was one thing but having him gone from the company for more than half of a year might be a bit extreme. At the same time, Perry did something that did not need to take place and it caused quite the downward spiral. It certainly caused a domino effect and I cannot blame Khan for being mad at Perry for the fallout of everything that has happened.
What do you think of the situation? Will Perry return to AEW TV? Let us know in the comments below.
