Well it almost worked. WWE has been around for a long time now and sometimes you get to see a familiar face pop up again. That can make for some interesting moments as you never know when you are going to see a surprise. It helps when you have people showing up again who can still offer a lot to the company, but unfortunately that will not be the case for the time being.

Even though the Women’s Revolution changed the way women’s wrestling worked in WWE, there were several incredibly talented women who came in the earlier generations. Many of them helped to pave the way for the wrestlers that you see today and without them, the Women’s Revolution would not have taken place. One was rumored to be returning to WWE but that does not seem to be taking place at the moment.

According to Johnny Fairplay in an interview with PWTorch.com, Melina will not be returning to WWE in the near future. Melina had been rumored to be coming back to the company but she will not be back at the moment due to having some surgery. The plan had been to have Melina join the Robert Stone Brand in NXT but the plans have since been canceled. Melina has denied the rumors of a return since the rumors began. Fairplay was told about this by Stone when the two spoke earlier this month.

Even if she isn’t back, she has some great history. Check out Melina’s time in WWE:

Opinion: This sounds a bit convenient and the more that I hear from Melina, the more I wonder if she was ever going to be brought back in the first place. Melina is someone who has stuck around wrestling and could be a player, at least on a certain level, if she was brought back. That’s a big if though and if she would rather stay elsewhere, good for her, because she is going to have some demand. If the surgery story is true though, hopefully everything winds up going well for her too and she is back in the ring whenever she wants to be.

What do you think of Melina? Will she be back in WWE? Let us know in the comments below.
