I don’t think it would have gone well. Back in September, Miro, formerly known as Rusev in WWE, made his AEW debut as one of the biggest signings out of the group of April WWE releases. Since his debut, Miro has mainly focused on his new love of gaming, including segments and promos involving gaming. It is a very different way to go, but WWE had a pretty different idea for him last year.

During his five and a half year run in WWE, one of the longer stories that Miro took part in was a love triangle involving Lana and Bobby Lashley. Miro is married to Lana, who left him for Lashley, setting up the long running feud. The story involved Miro being a sex addict, which eventually annoyed Lana to cause her to have an affair. It turns out that the original plan was rather different.

In the latest edition of the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Miro spoke about the plans WWE had for him before he left the company. The original pitch for the storyline would have seen Miro suffering from erectile dysfunction, which would have upset Lana. Miro objected, saying that it would have killed his career as he had already lost his wife and was losing all of his matches as well. The story ended with Miro defeated, though Lashley and Lana have since broken up on-screen.

The story was kind of a mess. Check out how things went between the two of them:

Opinion: I can’t say I blame Miro for being upset by this as it is the kind of thing that would have followed him around for the rest of his time in WWE. That is the kind of storyline that would have been brought up for years to come. I’m not sure why WWE thought it was a good idea, but for some reason they sometimes seem to pick a person and decide to crush them, which seems to be what happened to Miro. Can you blame him for leaving?

What did you think of the love triangle? How will Miro do in AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
