It could help things a lot. NXT is in a weird place as it is the official WWE developmental territory, but also airing on national television every single week. That makes things all the more complicated as the wrestlers are not exactly able to get a chance to hone their skills. What they need is more ring time and a chance to learn in front of some smaller crowds. WWE used to have that kind of an option and now they migth be bringing it back.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is considering bringing back NXT live events. WWE stopped running such events in March 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. There is no word on if this will be back on a nationwide scale or just in Florida. Should it be Florida, WWE would only be running events in small venues, with around 200 seats at any given venue.
Opinion: This is exactly what a place like NXT needs. Getting their rookies out there with about five minutes a week isn’t going to help them, but putting them in the ring for ten minutes multiple times a week is going to make a big difference. Ultimately, wrestlers need to get in the ring and find out what works and what doesn’t. It is something that has been needed, and also gives NXT something else to do for a change.
